We are fortunate enough to have Sir Kailash Satyarthi in our midst this afternoon. Sir Kailash Satyarthi needs no introduction in the East or the West. A distinguished social reformer and academician, he was awarded the Nobel Prize by the Swedish Academy for his struggle against the suppression of children and young people and for the right of all children to education.. His profound learning and research have, enriched the store of human knowledge. A social reformer, Sir Kailash Satyarthi is no less brilliant than an educationist. He gave a highly illuminating speech on the need of the right sort of education in India, where even today the education, imparted to the students, could not equip them for the struggle in life. His words have been, to us, a source of inspiration.
We, therefore, fervently request you to grant us a holiday as a mark of respect to this distinguished philanthropist and academician, who, despite his various preoccupations, could kindly make it convenient to visit our school.
