- Write a short paragraph on MY FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL
I am now a student of class XI, but I shall remember the first day at my school for the rest of my life. I must call it a memorable day. I was admitted to class VI at the Belda Gangadhar Academy in Paschim Medinipur. I was hardly eleven years old.
My father took me to the Headmaster’s office at 10.30 A.M. The Headmaster greeted me cordially and asked my father to wait outside. I was feeling nervous. The Headmaster smiled, and all my fear was gone. He asked me a few questions about English grammar translation and Arithmetic.
Fortunately, I could answer all of them quite satisfactorily.
The Headmaster patted me on the back and said that I was selected.
An office clerk took me to section A of class V. I Was told that section A consisted of the brightest students. As soon as I was seated, most of the students came to me and made friendly gestures. I was afraid that they might tease me. But they did not. I liked them as they liked me.
The class teacher entered, and we all stood up. He asked me my name and the school I had come from. I politely replied. He then asked some questions on the English translation. He was pleased with my answers. All my imaginary fear about schools and teachers was gone. I felt that I was a member of a larger family. I returned home so happily.
